Tommy Turchin lit up Miami Beach's night in the 1980s. While most people saw empty buildings and deteriorating hotels, he, and a group of progressive young men saw an opportunity to use the shell of an Art Deco building as a large place to party. They created a night club element that is responsible for Miami Beach's status as an elite entertainment destination. You might say he 'put the life in Miami Beach's night.'
